A pioneer in the world of children's portraiture, photographer Cheryl Jacobs Nicolai is among the most admired and emulated portrait photographers working today. With a style described by Black and White Photography Magazine (London, UK) as "the anti-cute approach to photographing children," her work and workshops have helped usher in a more honest, respectful era of child photography.
Known for her soulful and personal approach to portraiture, Cheryl has the unusual ablity to bring out the intensity in her subjects, young and old. Her masterful use of B&W film and natural light give her prints a depth uncommon in today's digital world. Her distinctive style of fine art portraiture is instantly recognizable.

Cheryl is available for sessions in the Denver Metro area, and also maintains a clientele in London, UK, and Charleston, SC. Cheryl travels extensively for her portrait work and lectures; please inquire about her availability in your area.
Cheryl schedules no more than three sessions per week, fully investing herself in every session. She works on location rather than in a sterile studio environment, incorporating her subject's environment into her work. Session fees begin at $350 US.
